Jesuit Missionary Collection In the early 1900s, the Jesuits established a museum at Gonzaga University to house Native artifacts collected by missionaries throughout North America. The collection was disbanded, and with help from the Friends of the Alaska State Museum, these Eskimo and Athabascan items were returned to Alaska. They were originally collected between 1901 and 1909 by Father George de la Motte and Brother Louis Markham.
